you know, there's something that always makes me happy all year round, it was when i see my friends wear something that i made, even though most of the things is not near any satisfying result -,- , but looking at them happily wearing and mix it together (cause' most of it usually handmade jewelry) on daily basis, is really do priceless.

for example, remember last year i was making this ceramic beads necklace, i finally get times to give it up to them, even though there's still a few that not yet reached them, since i keep forgetting and caught up between assignment (this is real people :"< ), i'll make sure it'll going to reach them anytime soon. anyhow, this post is dedicated to them, to be honest, they are the one who always inspired me.

the much anticipated f/w 11/12 collection from All The Things I've Done is finally here, as what we can expected from them, a collection that consist of simple yet versatile everyday staple with of course keen for details and cutting is always been their signature, the reason i've been a constant fan not long ago. with such an unique and unusual approach for their lookbook, shoot at a slaughter house with hanging raw butcher product as the background, definitely a clever way to grab the attention, but clearly those not outspoken the pieces, a proof of how good the collection are, and aaaaaah... the peacoat its definitely on my top of birthday wish list right now ;)

i've been meaning to post this for a months now, just waiting for the complete version of the video to be released but sadly it's not yet happened. i found these interview a while back, its between dossier journal and complex geometries very own clayton evans, i like the way he thinking, quoting from the interview, "one of the things i think about (when designing) is mass production and about the way clothes are made and why they are made. i'm less interested in doing mass production, but the idea and perpetuation of it fascinated me.". and how complex geometries can take most understated garments to an accessible luxury of good design, makes me an instant fans.

its about time Ghost making their official runway debut on Cleo Fashion Award during Jakarta Fashion Week 2012 as the finalist for CFA first ever most promising accessories brand award title. so i was more then happy when Ghost ask me to be one of their fitter.

6 new jewelry style was presented, inspired by Russian with their intriguing ornaments and emblem, their melancholy of long lost princess Anastasia and of course the famous matryoshka doll. leaved it to Ghost dynamic duo when it comes to meticulous details, layers of layers full of pearl, frills and pendant with feast for the eyes graphic, you can tell just by looking at it their labour of hard work.

If I get bored at home usually I ask my brother and my sister to go out to somewhere and had dinner outside. One day I was not in the mood to go out at all but my sister tempting to go out and try some cookies, so we did. We went out to a place where usually I rarely go to , if you guys could guess where I am from the picture I took ;) . I don't know why that day I feel like its the first time I went there which its really not true since my mood went really good I decide to playing around with my camera. My sister finally bought the cookies that she wanted and then we went dinner on this italian restaurant. Kinda cute place, italian design , quite comfy and the taste of the food not so bad. But sadly after we finish dinner and decide to go home, my sister lost the cookies that she bought, she left it somewhere and she totally forget about it. She pretty upset but then I said " well its only cookies maybe its not the time yet u try those cookies , there always tomorrow , and the next day ", she laugh tho. Even tho she still a bit upset about the cookies she can't deny that she had amazing night, yes we did.

i just discover her work and apparently it got everything that i like, especially on her spring/summer 2012. the right kind of preppines that somehow have this less serious feeling, maybe because the shorts or those sparkling shirt or those in "trends" pj's as an outwear shirt on the third photos. it just look so damn fine.

speaking of shorts, i dont remember when the last time i wear it, because as vivid as i can remember, way back on my sophomore in highschool, i make a promise to my self to stop wearing shorts (swim trunk and comfy short pj's is an exception) but i forget the reason why, but then that does it, i stop wearing it ever since. yesterday i was looking around at topman since they having their annual sale, i thought i might scored something, then i found this burgundy shorts that was discount half price, but its ridiculous because the price is almost the same with their nice slim fit trouser with the same exact color and material, that just mental if you know what i mean.

this is what i wore at the Goods.Dept "freaks and geeks" theme fashion show during men fashion week. i know its waaay to late to post this, you must be know the reason if you've been reading this blog from the beginning, because it's always the same old reason :D. so here i am, trying to dress according to themes, but when i'm think about it, dammit ! this not even close to freaks or geeks, but this is what i always put on. then after this irony incident, i came with a conclusion, next time if someone ask "describe your style" or "what is your style", i guess "awkward" is appropriate answer.

those quirky vest are from Jvstify, that Yessy (Jvstify designer) gave to me during the studio visit, i'm obsessed with it ever since !!! it have soft and delicate texture like your fancy bath robe and the longer open back details just make this vest look super fun, this my friends just make it into my ever growing "awesome jumper and knit" list.

So as all of you know that Hafiz was working as one of the crew of Nikicio , and he really busy helping with all the fashion show and stuff. Even tho he really busy he still get a time to help me to get into the Nikicio Fashion show, which he made it and I can't be more thankful to him. Nikicio is my ultimate fav. designer from Indonesia, she really amazing with her work and every of her collection always never fail to amazed me , and this time she did it again. The fashion show went magical , its really fun and cool , the Dj accompany the show with all cool songs ( I try so hard to keep myself calm and not dancing on that time ), the guests also come with all different style which really cool, I also met a long time friends that I haven't met for 6 years!, that day I had so much fun, except the part watching Hafiz really busy and look very tired. As Nikicio said that is ” A laid back skater girl with effortless style, a nomad, a light-traveller – a collection for the coolest people with the coolest style” which she absolutely true about it, the fact that she said is a laid back skater girl make me love her even more, how could she know that I love anything about skater??? lol. anyway MEGA POST today, check out MORE picture after the jump, enjoy! x

Anyone miss Hafiz posting? I miss him so bad , haven't meet him for quite a long time. I know that he really busy right now, but I hope he doing great tho. So nothing much happen in my life since I back to college, which mean a lot of project to do , very late sleep / not sleep at all, and tired. That also the reason why I haven't post lately , I know its really a bad excuse but thats the truth.

I actually want to share you about one of the project that I working on last week. Its about my sacred event, sacred people's, and sacred place, its one of the project that I'll do it with enjoy cause its really fun. But I already submit the project ( which is two of big A3 collage ) and I really forget to take the picture first before I submit it, so yeah sorry. found by Indonesian fan favorite cult jewelery, Ghost, Yasmina Yessy another brain child, Jvstify, a ready to wear collection for anyone who love to looks little bit different, think neon color meet kitsch design and things that creep under your bed or hiding inside your closet put together. err... did i just say little bit ?

we're at sunbeamray's already a die-hard-fan, especially when we lay our hand on jvstify first collection a kitsch prints that featured troll, snow white evil step mother and those creepy yet adorable little creatures hand drawn by the designer it self. when we get the chance to visit Jvstivy/Ghost studio, we're thrilled, as soon as we get there is hard to move our ass out, its either the sleepy weather Bandung having that day or simply we're inspired by everything in there.

some photos i took from my recent trip to bandung, having a brunch at Potluck then wonder around bandung before off to meet some of our friends. i'm liking the Lou Belle store, maybe it's the vibrant color coming of from the rack and shelf or simply i'm excited and overwhelmed since most of the things in there were made in Indonesia, well-made design and very reasonable price, its about time.

I did found some interesting stuff but mostly its book ( as you can see on the picture I bring a bag from Kinokuniya Book store ). I always love wondering around the book store especially like Kinokuniya cause sometime I could find like a "treasure" there .

when i started my second semester, my fond for khakis pants is grew bigger and bigger, but there's a moment when i feel like want to throw those pants and swear to god there's also a moment where i'm gonna puke when i saw someone wearing the high-waist version of it, its like suddenly everyone have those F-ugly style khakis pants, but then i manage to survived that phase.

but my fondness for rolling up my pants its started way back then, before it turns into a statement for any fixie-bike rider in Jakarta nowadays (believe me, i've heard it from trusted sources). why do i begin to rolled up my pants ? first, what do you expect ? its because the pants is much more longer then my leg because i tend to have average high of regular Asian dude, second, i don't want to re-cuff my pants to tailor, i don't feels like it was necessary, i just don't feel it man. so i begin to rolled every over-length pants or jeans that i have.

after that, people started to created a joke about "how on earth i just got flood" or "a flood victims" but i have to admit it does some times (or every time) looks like that, maybe it only looks good and chic on Parisian or rather taller person. during the internship days, Shila and i had those conversation, then i ask her how she cuff her pants, she said she used this technique, origami like, to fold her pants, sounds shabby, so that very weekend i google "how to cuff your pants" and after i found and watched this video, i never look back.

hey guys, long time no see and talk with me , miss me? no? I'm sad ... Alright enough with the stupid, awkward , joke opening , sorry about that. Finally I could post here again, the reason why I stop posting here cause I went holiday with my family to Bangka, and sadly when I was there the Wifi is really ugly and hard to find/ get so no update at all.

So hello again guys , hopefully all of you still remember me . Yesterday I went to watch a concert and right now finally I have time to write here again. Today I want to share with you when I was in New castle I go to Angel of The North , is a big statue who look like an Angel. Its really amazing , very big and take my breath away. I really suggest you to go there if you guys have a chance to go to New Castle, its located in Gateshead, England. And I also finally taste my very first time fish & chips in New Castle. Visit Angel Of The North its really cool. Its feel like back to nature trip. I run like a kid when I was there, lay down on the grass, taking a lot of picture with friends. If you see the picture here you might think the weather is hot but actually its really windy and cold and that the reason why I wear some kind of green jacket. But eventually I get used to it tho. To go there for my last day in New Castle its really worth it and I would love to go back again if I have the chance .

another weekend, i just finished reading How to Do a Fashion Show by Estel Vilaseca for page one that kak Nina want me to read, a very good book, well explained and details, plenty of inspiration and useful note about this and that i made trough the time reading it. meanwhile i also been reading Junji Ito manga day and night, really diggin' it, i must say his artwork and way telling the story is an eye opening, i immediately become a huge fans , here you can check out some link of his manga and dont forget to tell me what do you think about it later, kay ! :D

beside that, re watching Daria is so refreshing, who knew deadpan joke entertain me so much and do you know what else is good ? NIKICIO:MIXTE upcoming collection, it get me all giddy !!! it's everything that i could ask for next S/S season !!! awesome KNITS, awesome prints, prints, a lot of prints, awesome soft leather, awesome tote bags, OOPS...!!! better stop or it wouldnt be a surprised right !!? :D :D :D

Letter from the New Castle

Hafiz already told you that I've got an opportunity to visit London right? Yes and now I'm here to share the story with you. Actually before I go to London, I have to go to this very beautiful place name New Castle. When I was in New Castle, I remember my first impression is the weather , its very windy and very cold even tho its actually pretty sunny on that time. The second impression that I get is the buildings, they really have amazing structure building. It feel like you walk in to the movie set because you see a lot of buildings with an old design. if you guys want to see the picture click here please

In New Castle I have to visit Northumbria University cause that one of the college that work together with Binus University for the fashion class , if I'm not wrong. Its really amazing experience to have a tour and see how the university is , but of course the fashion class part mostly, how they make very cool stuff, write their ideas on the wall mirror of their classes ( kinda look like an art when I see it ), a lot of amazing art and poster on the wall , I met some of the student who busy preparing for G.F.W ( Graduate Fashion Week ), and I've got to see they sewing place where they make all the cloths for G.F.W , I met a girl who actually were working on the cloth for her show but she look very busy and serious so I don't want to bother her with my camera. one of the amazing moment that I had is when I visit the library part. They have this one big building for their library , and on that library they have almost EVERYTHING, like EVERYTHING, a good collection of cool books ( any kind of books ) , they even have a collection of old VOGUE magazine from year to years. But since is a library I'm not allow to take a picture of the books :(. well here some of the picture I took in New Castle , enjoy !

whats up peeps, i know that i haven't post anything these couple of weeks, shame, i know, but there's isn't a lot of interesting things happened lately, i pretty much caught up between the office rush hour and browsing all day long hiding from the sun, i know so what i would i called this blog sunbeamray in the first place when you're hiding from the sun, it just I'm to lazy to go outside and all the time i stuck in the bus during rush hour definitely drown my energy, so weekend is the perfect excuse to put your feet up and take a very long nap.

few days ago, i get these beautiful raw crystal shape ceramic beads that i thought it would be a nice simple necklace and right now i have created 10 necklace, i will give some of it to my close friends as a late birthday present (yeah, i know -_-). i also created a fake label name and poster and a box (on progress) for it, see ! even though this a just-for-fun-project i'm tryin' to put a lot of effort on it hahaha, who knows maybe someday i will make it as a real jewelry line (i've been thinking about it though). now the problem is there's havent much time for me lately to give it to them. *sigh*

so i were in the middle of end of semester exam right now and it not start until 6 hours later. so like i said before, about my last trip to singapore, i rather enjoy the journey and conversation, thats why i seldom taking photos when out and about around singapore. i mostly go with my friend Ican (ee.can) when waddle around, then i come out with an idea that we go visit and check out all the store that susie bubble post on her recent trip to singapore and some other cool store in one day. afterward, we got ourself a few awesome goods. here's mine...

i got both of tote bag from blackmarket in their newly open branch at orchard central. the first one is actually huge, because it can double as an apron, when i first saw the bag i knew that i gotta have it plus it can fit my A3 sketch book nicely and plenty of other stuff in it at the same time (and it also had a pocket in each side that can be use when as an apron, neat right !) and the other one is a nice regular size tote bag that just too good to be ignored since it got awesome camouflage print and lucious orange/tangerine inside.

new addition to my ever growing necklace collection, this one is from singapore based label vice&vanity that i got from acuriousteepee, another awesome concept store that had mouth watering cafes and cozy place to sit back and relax, its became my instant favorite place in singapore.

actually, there's more other stuff that i will shared later, now i have to get ready and tidy up my huge-huge pile of paper for today exam, talk about global warming right -__-. i will going back to singapore this weekend and only for the weekend because a family wedding, and i'm in panic attack now since i have to finished the exam deadline like A.S.A.P before i go.

nothing interesting happened lately, i just work on a lot of assignment until 1 a.m everyday, then i started to hearing a bird chirping outside that weirdly lighten up my mood a bit. as you can see (below) i re-paint my assignment, marker did not work well with this kind of assignment, so yes, this is the one who keep me up until 1 a.m and i finally conquer my fear using poster color (i guess). then i still have to snuck a time between that to finished my own project to give the whole class a sudden preview to that, because i cant think of anything to present at the english class final assignment, will share the details later (again), >__< sorry....

finally, a Byo paper bag ! actually i really want to grab it during the opening of Goods Dept, but because of this and that i forget about it, later on when i come back they were sold out, in the end we met again during the brightspot and i'm not going to repeat the same mistakes. nonetheless thanks to Mr.Byo him self for the something something :D

so one more day until Brightspot opening day ! anyone excited ? you have to ! because plenty of good things will available for you to find. sometimes Brightspot market can be a good turning point to most of Indonesian local creative talent to debut their product or to launch new collection, so there's always a reason to come and going home without empty handed.

so if you able to come to Brigtspot and your looking for outfits that were going to match your fun slightly edgy and extraordinaire personality, then Douche is the answer. the Bandung based label always amused me with the concept their bring for each collection. who can forget the label infamous shredded shirt that make everybody from the blogsphere and media going very much crafty to recreate the shirt.

for their 3rd collection called, The Mystical, Douche using Indonesian traditional urban legend as their main concept, but don't you worried because the collection is way far from that white oversize dress those scary ladies famous for. using transparent fabrics, Douche perfectly create the illusion of ghost in to the collection. from shirt, jumpsuit, to dress and to shawl and shoes, there's plenty of hauntingly beautiful things you can wear and layer on this spring.
